First draft
When seventeen-year-old Nell Carter learns her local library in Cambridge is set to lose its final grant, she starts a student campaign to save it, mostly because she cannot stand watching a place that has quietly held everyone else together be treated like an inconvenience. The problem is that the library is also where she has spent years avoiding her own life, and saving it means finally dealing with the people and choices she has been shelving for later.
