Behind the stories
George Murray writes mainly in science fiction and enjoys discussing both the creative and practical sides of making books, from early drafts to finished editions.
A story does not need to explain everything to know what it means.

First draft
In a fractured trade corridor at the edge of a dying empire, a library ship that stores the only surviving copies of several disputed histories is caught between rival powers who all want the same evidence. Its reluctant cataloguer, Mara Venn, has to decide whether knowledge is worth defending when every faction claims the truth would be more useful buried. The book follows a slow, dangerous run through stations, archives and old war zones, where people keep making political choices and calling them destiny.
