First draft
When a council surveyor is sent to inspect a condemned terrace on the edge of Coventry, she finds one house that should have been empty for decades, yet keeps producing signs of life. The building seems to remember everyone who has ever lived there, and it is not finished with them. As the surveyor digs into the house’s history, she learns that some places do not simply hold ghosts, they collect debts.
