The Quiet Between Stars
When a salvage crew in a neglected trade corridor finds a derelict survey ship carrying a map to a sealed region of space, they expect bad luck and salvage fees, not a political problem. The map points to a chain of hidden habitats built around a vanished transit gate, and several powers would rather burn the evidence than let anyone learn what was really left there. The crew has to decide whether the truth is worth surviving long enough to tell.
