When a rare-book librarian in Nottingham finds a handwritten note hidden in a withdrawn catalogue, she starts tracing a pattern of missing volumes, altered records and one death that was filed away too neatly. The deeper she goes, the more the library itself seems to be hiding a story someone was willing to kill for. It becomes a case about what gets preserved, what gets erased, and who decides the difference.
