The Last House on Harker Lane
After a flood exposes a sealed room in an old terrace on the edge of Durham, a freelance copyeditor moves into the house to finish a job and starts finding revisions to his manuscript that he never made. The changes seem to predict deaths in the building, and each new draft pulls him closer to whatever was buried behind the wall. The house is old, but the thing inside it is patient.
