At seventeen, Mina Vale expects one quiet final summer shelving books in her town library, not a fight to save the place from a council closure that seems to have been decided by people who never use it. When a local campaign turns messy and personal, she is forced to deal with family pressure, a friendship that has gone stale, and the awkward fact that wanting something to survive is not the same as knowing how to keep it alive.
