The Salt Road at Dawn
In 1811, a disgraced mapmaker is sent north with a sealed route and a wagon of contraband salt, only to find the road itself has become a battlefield of smugglers, excise men, and old loyalties. As winter closes in, he has to decide whether to finish the journey that could restore his name, or destroy the evidence that would ruin half the people along the coast.
