When a local history society’s website starts receiving anonymous corrections, freelance copyeditor Mara Finch assumes it is just another petty dispute over old facts. Then the society’s chair is found dead in a locked archive room, and the notes on the site begin pointing toward a theft that never made it into the records. Mara has to untangle the paper trail, the online trail, and the people who would rather the past stayed conveniently vague.
