First draft
In a near-future Cambridge where weather can be stored, edited, and sold back to the public, a quiet catalogue editor discovers that the city’s climate records have been altered to conceal a disappearance. As she follows the gaps through libraries, drainage tunnels, and private data vaults, she begins to suspect the missing person was erased from more than one kind of archive. The deeper she looks, the more she has to decide what should be preserved, and what a tidy record is really for.
