Edward Briggs writes across historical fiction and drama, with a particular interest in character, atmosphere, revision and the details that turn a manuscript into a finished book.
Writing gets interesting when the obvious choice stops working.

In Cork during the winter of 1920, a widowed bell founder is asked to recast a church bell damaged in the fighting, only to discover the commission is tied to a secret he helped bury years before. As the city hardens around him, he must decide whether to protect the people he loves or tell the truth that could ruin them. The novel follows one ordinary craftsperson caught between memory, loyalty and the cost of silence.
