First draft
When a rare local-history collection begins disappearing from a Galway library, cataloguer Niamh Keane notices that the missing books all point to one unsolved death from years earlier. As she starts tracing the pattern through lending records, marginal notes and quiet lies, she finds that someone has been using the library to hide a much older crime. The deeper she looks, the more it becomes clear that the final book was never meant to be returned.
