Behind the stories
Daniel writes supernatural horror grounded in recognisable people and places. He prefers unease to gore and believes the best monsters are often frightening long before they are seen.
Fear works best when the room still looks completely normal.

When a row of ordinary terraced houses in Birmingham is quietly altered overnight, the residents begin to notice that certain rooms no longer behave like rooms. Doors open into the wrong places, familiar voices come from behind sealed walls, and one house seems to be remembering people who have never lived there. As the changes spread, a local archivist has to work out what was invited into the street before the whole place becomes unrecognisable.
