In Canterbury, a meticulous map restorer discovers that certain damaged streets are not just missing from old plans, but slipping out of the city’s memory altogether. When he starts tracing the gaps, he finds a hidden layer of warded alleys, bargains, and old civic magic that has been keeping the city intact for centuries. The trouble is that every repair he makes seems to wake something that was meant to stay buried.
