Behind the stories
Chris Fletcher is a crime writer interested in how stories work, how readers respond to them and how technology is changing the way writers create and publish.
A story only works when somebody has something to lose.

Later first draft
When a small-time debt collector in Limerick disappears after a late-night run to the riverfront, the only person willing to look closely is a former garda analyst who has spent years avoiding real cases. What begins as a missing-person enquiry turns into a quiet war over blackmail, old loyalties and a set of recordings that someone has been trying very hard to erase. The deeper she goes, the less certain it becomes whether the missing man ran, was taken, or was protecting someone else.
