The Quiet Hours
Seventeen-year-old Mara spends her evenings shelving books in a small Canterbury bookshop that is due to close at the end of the summer. When she starts finding anonymous notes tucked inside returned paperbacks, she becomes obsessed with tracing who is leaving them and why the messages seem to know too much about her. As the shop’s future grows shakier, Mara has to decide whether to keep things as they are or risk changing everything that has made the place feel like home.
