The Quiet Between Orbits
When a salvage pilot is sent to recover a derelict diplomatic liner drifting beyond a disputed trade route, she finds the ship carrying more than dead cargo and old messages. Its sealed records point to a conflict that was edited out of history, and to a living passenger who should not still be there. The deeper she goes, the more the rescue becomes a question of what, exactly, was allowed to survive.
