The House at Ashen Moor
After his estranged aunt dies, a damaged archivist returns to her collapsing house on the edge of the Derbyshire moors to sort through her papers and sell the place. He finds that the house keeps a record of the dead in ways that are far less metaphorical than he would prefer, and that his aunt had been trying to stop something from being remembered correctly.
