In a city where printed books are rationed, catalogued, and slowly replaced by licensed memory feeds, Mara Vale works nights in a failing bookshop that is meant to be closed and stripped for data storage. When she discovers that certain titles have been edited out of every official archive, she has to decide whether preserving the past is an act of theft, sabotage, or common sense.
