In a city built around a library that burns its own records every twenty years, seventeen-year-old Mara Vale is hired to copy maps that no longer match the streets outside. When she finds a hidden atlas showing places the city has erased on purpose, she starts uncovering a pattern of disappearances tied to the people in power. The trouble is, the atlas seems to be changing her as much as it changes the map.
