When a practical Cambridge copyeditor agrees to help rescue a failing independent café from a disastrous rebrand, she expects spreadsheets, not feelings. The problem is the new owner is the sort of man who notices everything, including the fact she has been quietly running her life on caution and caffeine for years. As the café becomes a place for awkward conversations, half-finished plans and one very stubborn local community, she has to decide whether staying safe is really the sensible option.
