The Hollow Bell
In a city built around a dead saint’s tower, the bells are said to keep the dark from waking beneath the streets. When the youngest bell-ringer starts hearing a second set of chimes no one else can hear, he is drawn into a buried history the city has spent generations trying to ring out of memory. The deeper he looks, the more it seems the bells were never a warning at all, but a lock.
