First draft
When a quiet coastal library in Aberystwyth starts receiving overdue books from people who never checked them out, assistant librarian Cerys Vale assumes it is a clerical oddity. Then one of the returned books is found with a pressed sea thrift inside it, and its previous owner vanishes after a stormy evening in the reading room. Cerys has to untangle a small-town web of old grudges, missing records and inconvenient truths before the library becomes known for more than late fees.
