First draft
In 1890s Kilkenny, a widow who restores old ledgers for a printer begins to notice that the city’s forgotten streets are being erased from official maps. When she finds a set of private notes hidden in a damaged almanac, she is drawn into a quiet dispute over memory, property and who gets to decide what a place is called. The novel follows her as she weighs caution against the risk of naming what others would rather leave out.
