The Last Borrowed Book
When a rare local-history volume goes missing from a small Highland library, the staff would rather blame a careless borrower than a thief. But the book seems to have vanished for reasons that have less to do with shelving and more to do with old grudges, private debts, and what people choose to keep hidden in plain sight. As the library prepares for a winter fundraising event, the missing book starts drawing out secrets nobody meant to lend.
