First draft
When a rare manuscript disappears from a Nottingham library archive, cataloguer Helen Voss is pulled into the investigation because she was the last person to handle it. What starts as a missing-book case opens into a tangle of altered records, old grudges and a death that was never properly explained. The deeper Helen digs, the less certain she becomes about who is protecting the truth and who is hiding it.
