The Quiet Room at the End of the Hall
When a woman returns to the Dublin apartment building where her sister vanished years earlier, she finds that one flat has been kept untouched behind a locked door. The building’s tenants remember the sister differently, and each version makes the disappearance feel less like a mystery than a carefully arranged story. As old notes, building records and small domestic details begin to line up, the narrator has to decide whether she is uncovering the truth or being drawn into someone else’s version of it.
