The Last Light on the Moray Firth
In the winter of 1819, a chartmaker's daughter is sent north to recover a missing survey notebook before a disputed stretch of the Scottish coast is sold on false maps. She finds the notebook has passed through smugglers, excisemen and one very determined lighthouse keeper who knows the land is being lied about. The journey becomes less about the paper than about who gets to define a place, and who pays when the truth is delayed.
