A character’s browser history can do more work than a tidy speech ever will.

Not because it’s clever, but because it’s messy in a believable way. The tabs left open, the half-finished searches, the notes app full of badly phrased reminders. That’s where fear and avoidance show up. People don’t usually leave a neat confession lying around. They leave traces of what they keep circling.

Sometimes the useful question isn’t whether to include the digital clutter. It’s whether the book is brave enough to let the reader see how ordinary obsession looks when nobody is performing.
