About Woodland Academy

"Have you ever heard about Woodland Academy? No? Well, then, you’re in luck, because you’re about to discover a fantastic school filled with wizards and witches of all sizes and ages. I’m sure you’ve read stories with magic in them before but I don’t think you’ve ever read a story with a school quite like this one. All of the students are animals! I'm taking you to Woodland Forest, where anyone can be a wizard, from the smallest squirrel to the biggest bear. As long as they’re willing to try, no one is too short or too young! Along the way, you’ll learn about enchanted objects, magic spells, and potions, meet new friends and even have some adventures in the woods. Oh, and we’ll enjoy a lot of good food! So, come on in because I have so much to tell you!" No matter your age, you’re all welcome to enter Woodland Forest! This children's novel follows Appleasauce (a wizard/ squirrel AKA a squizard! What do you mean it's not a real word? Of course it is!) and his best friends Almond and Buttercup. As they start their first year at the Woodland Academy they'll have to learn how to cast spells, brew potions and use their Magicol (a wand, an acorn or a stone.) They'll also have to adjust to a new environment, learn how to make friends and deal with their family's expectations. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - This novel is: - easy to read from upper primary but can also make a great bedtime story for younger kids! (lots of short chapters, perfect for that!) - written with love! Born from a desire to give a story to my own children when they were little, I based the main characters on them and my husband. - not a quest type of book and is drama-free. It's fun and cosy and will make bookworms happy since it has a few book lovers in it (and a library in the woods!) - filled with love.
