About the book

About Winter's Snare

Haunted by dreams of the boy whose life she shattered and burdened by dark family secrets she's only just begun to understand, private investigator Winter Black is trying to keep her life from falling apart. With her husband on a yearlong break from the FBI, the bills are piling up, and Winter has no choice but to take on even the most mundane cases. Serving a summons should be easy. Until the man she served is found dead the next day. His wife too. The man, a local appliance store owner, faced financial ruin pending the legal case, leading authorities to suspect a murder-suicide. Winter doesn't buy that he killed himself or his wife. In fact, she'd seen the anticipation in his eyes as they packed for a vacation together-- hardly the behavior of a man about to end it all. When the employee behind the lawsuit goes missing, Winter is convinced. Someone murdered the couple. But who? As she digs deeper, the bodies start to pile up. People connected to the case are being picked off one by one, and Winter can't shake the feeling that she's getting closer to something dangerous--something that wants to stay hidden. Someone's playing a twisted game, and Winter's caught right in the middle. With a target on her back.
