About Whispers of the Serpent's Forsaken Bride - A Dark Paranormal Fantasy of Revenge Passion and the Dangerous Allure of a Vampire Prince
The air reeked of smoke and iron. Selene Ardyn crouched beneath the splintered beams of her burning home, wide-eyed, her small body trembling as shadows moved through the village like predators on a hunt. The Umbra Court had come-vampires cloaked in black silks and glimmering armor, their eyes glowing with hunger and cruel delight. Screams pierced the night. Neighbors she had known since infancy were dragged into the streets, their blood spilling like offerings across the cobblestones. The vampires laughed, drinking deep, as fire devoured thatched roofs and painted the horizon in crimson. Her mother stood before her, a fae queen even in despair. Silver hair shimmered against the flames as she drew Selene close, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "Run, my starling," she whispered, voice breaking. Magic sparked at her fingertips, weaving a cloak of illusions that shimmered like glass around Selene's body. "Do not let them see you. You must live, even if I do not."
