About While They Slept (Carolina McKay Crime Thriller)

She vanished while they slept. No screams. No witnesses. Just an empty bed and a town desperate for someone to blame. When eight-year-old Amelia Sines disappears, the police in Arrow Rock waste no time narrowing their investigation. The parents are the prime suspects, and the case is all but closed. But Carolina McKay isn’t convinced. Called in to take a closer look, Carolina finds an investigation fueled by rumors rather than leads. As she peels back the layers of a town desperate to protect its own secrets, she realizes the real danger isn't just the kidnapper, it's the people pretending to solve the crime. Now, Carolina must expose a truth that Arrow Rock is desperate to hide, before she becomes the next victim of a town that decided justice was optional.
