About Wheatgrass An Irish Fantasy
I knew someone once who was in an abusive relationship, one that they felt they simply couldn't leave. It broke my heart, so I wrote this story. Wheatgrass: An Irish Fantasy is a novelette that takes place in eastern, old Ireland and across the Irish Sea in Wales. Eire, a young Irish woman, has grown up and lives in the village of Blackwater. It's a beautiful place, and she is happy there with her family and many friends. One day she finds a magical creature near the sea. She names him Wheatgrass, and they quickly bond and Eire discovers his miraculous abilities. Eire's life then takes a turn that she doesn't expect when a dangerous wizard named Dalbhach enchants her, marries her and takes her to his castle. Life changes that day for not only Eire but for Wheatgrass and the entire village, and the only thing that can save her are the friends who truly care about her and want her to be happy. This story has happiness, sadness, fear, hope, adventure and a challenge that we all face - living life as we wish.
