About The Strange Escape A Fantasy Adventure Romance
Product Description King Kithengarde loved her. She was a laughter-loving rock climber with a risk-taking heart. He hoped their marriage would be a partnership;he was that kind of man. But Kithengarde should never have married Simlinde. His country had once been a Patriarchy. Men with political power were scheming to return to the past. They forced his Queen to live like a prisoner in the old harem Tower. Simlinde could hardly bear the Queen's Tower. When the armies of Karkia invaded the Kingdom, she found a strange way to escape. She thought she would never see Kithengarde again. Then danger and risk entwined him in her life. From the Publisher Claudette Drennan showed early promise as a writer, winning first place in the Atlantic's national college essay contest, and receiving other student awards, including the Cabrini Literary Guild's literature prize. She was admitted to Yale's prestigious program for developing playwrights, one of only eleven young playwrights in the US that year. Then the tragic illness of her son forced her to postpone a writing career. She has returned to story-telling at last with The Strange Escape, a genre masterpiece written by a first class talent. From the Author I've had some bad luck in my life.Stories of love and adventure have allowed me to escape to another time and place. My favorites have characters whose successes and happy endings make me feel they could actually have happened. I've tried to do that in The Strange Escape. A pessimist asked me if I thought women ever achieved equal partnership with their husbands outside the pages of fiction. I think such relationships are what people want, and so like Simlinde, women will make it happen, in future even more than it is happening now. About the Author When Claudette Drennan began winning prizes for her writing in college, she never imagined there could be such a thing as a tragedy that could prevent her from becoming an author. Then the first child born to her was seriously ill, changing her life. Caring for her son at home during the worst years of his illness put a tremendous strain on her marriage. Reading stories of success in love and adventure became as necessary to her survival as food to eat and air to breathe. After her son's death, she wanted to write an adventure romance of her own. She and her husband live in Texas in a house located on the main bird and butterfly migration route between the eastern United States and Texas. When the ruby-throat hummingbirds migrate through, they fill their garden with hummingbird feeders.
