Following the fictional tale of the house on Main Street, an Afterword tells the actual history of the 1850 Mansard Victorian, which served as the inspiration for the book. It traces the land and the ghosts who haunt it all the way back to the 1600's, when the French Explorer Samuel DeChamplain first encountered the native American Monomoit Indians on the exact spot where the current House on Main Street now stands.
