During that time, Paul was stuck in psychiatric care, not allowed to see Krystal, while Krystal joined the Maryland State Police academy to follow in her father’s footsteps. Krystal graduated from the academy, completed her field training, and is ready to serve revenge to Sean Craw and his associates for the death of her mother and the torture bestowed upon her and her father. Krystal and Paul team up with the FBI to begin their journey to capture not only Sean but Trent, Drew, and the other vile men who attacked their family. Trent takes a deal with the FBI and helps to smoke out Sean, but things don’t go according to plan. When Sean finds out that Krystal is still alive, he embarks on his own path for revenge. With nothing but revenge on the minds of Sean and Krystal, confronting their temptation for vengeance creates very dangerous circumstances. Krystal’s and Paul’s personal battles to redeem themselves for their past failures cause tension between them and leads to Krystal going rogue, allowing Sean to feel like he’s the one in control. When revenge is the only motive, though, it’s unclear who’s in charge, as vengeance is a self-destructive trope that discriminates against no one.
