What if you had the opportunity to spend time with your musical hero? What if you toured with them, ate with them, and stayed in the UK’s top hotels all at your hero’s expense? This is what happened to Joseph Treasure. Treasure, a frighteningly obsessive Bob Dylan fan, finds himself in close quarters to his musical hero when he joins Dylan on the British leg of his controversial 1966 world tour. Treasure spends six days travelling alongside Dylan and gets to watch his performances from the side of the stage. He eats with him, parties with him and even stays in the same hotels as the folk superstar, all paid for by Dylan. Dylan’s band and entourage cannot work out how Treasure has been able to get so close to Dylan in such a short space of time. But what Joseph Treasure cannot work out is why he is with Dylan in 1966, considering Treasure will not be born until 1976. The story tells of Joseph’s struggle to cope with the strange world he has found himself in. He yearns for his wife and son, who remain somewhere in 2016. His urge to return to his family, far outweigh the fact that he is in such proximity to Bob Dylan..
