About The Epic of Kittenus Maximus A Fantasy by D. L. Lewis

Kitten, a tabby residing in England, is frustrated. He knows his place in the world-he was born to kill. Killing is, after all, what felines do. Confined within his Lady's house, however, the cat is deprived of the opportunity to hunt live prey. The mansion is a sterile playground for a predator; offering nothing more than furniture which allows itself to be brutalized far too easily. The ambitious feline is hungry for a challenge. Kitten learns of a passage hidden in his Lady's library: a Door leading to an unknown world. No one has gone through the portal since the thirteenth century; its use having fallen into disfavor due to the fact that not one adventurer who crossed its threshold ever returned. His awareness of this danger does not deter the cat. He has been told that the source of all evil dwells openly in this world, and the feline is eager to fight him. Beyond the Door, Kitten finds a world where animals have more power than humans. The planet has been divided into halves: one hemisphere for birds and beasts; the other for people. These humans and animals can easily converse with one another, and a treaty has been made between the two formerly warring groups, but the peace is marred by the activities of the supernatural fiend Kitten is seeking. The tabby joins the animal army resisting the villain, and finds himself pulled into action that more than fulfills his predatory instincts while giving him an opportunity to exercise his sharp tongue. This witty and forthright cat has a voice that cannot be stifled; not even when he faces a powerful and mysterious being who appears to be a god. That voice just might prove to be the weapon that wipes evil out of existence forever.
