About The Eaters: A Doctor Mills Thriller

Having returned to a life on the wards, Catherine Mills, a surgical registrar at the North Pennines General Hospital, has re-immersed herself in the humdrum of hospital life.Or so she’d thought…But when her patients start dying, she is forced to wonder what it has do with a revolutionary new drug called Rosettamide, first in a line of so-called nano-pharmaceuticals that has been heralded as a cure for cancer. A drug that’s so advanced, it’s almost alive…Assisted by her friend and housemate, Gerra, an entomologist with an interest in adaptive systems, she strives to discover the reality behind the cure. Is it indeed the miracle it promises to be, or nothing more than a lifeline for its ailing developer – a company surviving on a catalogue of out-dated medicines? What, if anything, does it have to do with a break-in at Skelton Pharmaceuticals research facility in China, the provincial secretary’s sick daughter, and a lake full of dead fish? And just how far would its developer go to cover-up the truth, when the interests of the few outweigh the lives of the many?
