Next she learns his whole family’s gone. But the police do nothing. Why?  At the same time, she can’t escape the past. After a decade of silence, her heroin-addict mother is out of prison. That triggers Mags’ memories of bleak Scottish foster homes, where adults witnessed abuse but did nothing. Mags refuses to be that person. She needs to find this missing boy.  The deeper she digs, the darker the secrets. She uncovers a chilling conspiracy of organised crime, destruction and death. Mags is ready for the fight, but is she ready for the fallout? This business really is cut-throat. Then her phone rings. A child’s voice begs for help, screaming Mags’ name… Will she endanger her own young family to save this boy’s life?  : : The Cold Blood Trade is the first book in the GALLOWGATE CRIME THRILLER series of mystery suspense novels.
