About the book
About The Butcherbird Tree
It ́s nineteen ninety-four. The year that eighteen-year-old Simon Webb first openly expresses the desire to end his own life. Psychologist Frank Newman tries desperately to find a way to reverse the spiral of destructive thoughts, self-harm and the violent dreams that are consuming his enigmatic client. These emotionally challenging sessions soon turn into something more sinister, however, after a near-death experience begins to unravel the true meaning of Simon ́s brutal nightmares. Inspired by real events and written with genuine emotion reflecting the author ́s own experiences with mental health, this debut novel is the first book in a series that blurs the boundaries between commercial fiction, psychology, parapsychology and thriller.
