As with the other Books of Random Tables, this book helps cut down session prep time. The book has D100, D20, and D10 tables, providing a myriad of possibilities for game masters and players alike. The DM can roll on the tables or have the players do so. Either way, the game master doesn't have to spend time before the session filling in details-the tables do that work. The sections of the book are as follows: The first is "Items & Things." Here you will find tables like Food and Drink, Items in a Jarl's Chamber, Items in a Longboat, Items in a Longhouse, Items in a Ship Burial Site, and more. The "Names" section provides various names from clan names to ship names and more. All of these add a Viking and Norse feel to your gaming world. In "Norse Mythology," you will discover 40 researched and detailed quests, plus even more fascinating objects and runes. Next is the "Encounters" section. This section has ample situations to give your players hours of fun. The tables range from Rafts, Island Encounters, Sailing Encounters, Ships at Sea, Weather, and more. The "People" section includes two tables: Ship Captains and Shipwreck Survivors, giving dungeon masters interesting NPCs to engage their players. "Rumors & Odd Jobs" is the last section.
