About Solacia - The Wizard of Doom: A Solitaire Fantasy Game (Mike Lambo Solitaire Book Games)

Solacia was a peaceful place until the Wizard of Doom arrived. He spread evil across the land, conjuring up all kinds of horrors and forcing the people to pay huge amounts of gold just to stay alive. The Queen has called for a group of Heroes to find and kill the Wizard of Doom, and to return the gold to the people and bring peace to the land of Solacia once again. Solacia: The Wizard of Doomplaces you in control of that party of Heroes, consisting of a Warrior, a Thief, an Elf and a Mage. The game is played as an Adventure (campaign) which strings together a series of five quests for your party to undertake. Quest selection is randomised (from 14 quests) to keep the game fresh and different on each Adventure attempt. In addition to random quest selection, the quests themselves play out very differently each time, adding to replayability. Victory is achieved if you complete the fifth quest and rid the lands of the Wizard of Doom once and for all. How the book works This book is a solitaire hex-based fantasy game. You play the game by controlling what your Heroes do, and the book will provide enemies and other challenges for your Heroes to face. You will need two standard six-sided dice to play. Methods to play the game include: Use the suggested counters at the end of the book, which you can cut out and stick to medium card (recommended). You can find videos on the Mike Lambo Solitaire Book Games YouTube channel showing how to do this. Use cubes, miniatures, or similar tokens. Use some kind of acetate and dry-wipe markers. Take a photo of the maps on a tablet and use the ‘edit’ function to draw and erase. For example, on an iPad, tap ‘edit’ in the Photos App and then tap the three dots in the circle and choose ‘mark-up’. Photocopy and then draw/write on the pages lightly in pencil and erase when necessary. You can use any annotations you choose. Complexity: 2/5 Players: 1 Playing time: 15-30 minutes per quest
