Sammy was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2018 and his father, Seth, is now sharing through his book the family's journey and lessons learned. Throughout Sammy’s confronting march into the illness and his debut into the netherworld of the homeless, Seth Rogers questions whether "typical schizophrenia" still applies given not only concerning worldwide mental health trends, but also the strange blueprint that looked like a designed pathway to his son's suspicious onset of the illness. He suggests that active external influences beyond what has been mapped out by psychology and psychiatry may play a bigger role than acknowledged. Disregarding the risks of venturing outside mainstream understanding, the author suggests more attention should be paid to abnormal occurrences and to the possible misuse of neurotechnologies to induce deviant behaviour. He shares his story not to push beliefs beyond the scope of logical understanding but to highlight the need for a more open, multidisciplinary approach to emerging mental health threats. This story takes the reader through a chilling timeline coloured with details of the sinister dispositions and suspicious occurrences that kept Sammy trapped in a prolonged exposure to all the factors that caused his illness. The author provides some research into the emerging field of mind tracking and hacking. He raises some questions as to who or what would be behind this and their motives, and illustrates how a number of existing patented technologies are designed to do what was done to Sammy and to some of the characters involved, including himself. In spite of the confronting chronicle of Sammy's escalating illness, the disturbing episodes surrounding it and his terrifying initiation to the dark world of the homeless, this book also carries an empowering message about our innate ability to tap into our deeper strength to pull ourselves out of desperation and reclaim our lives.
