Jack Ryber, SAS soldier, is wounded in the Falklands War and is demobbed from the British Army. He is employed by Wallace Security as a chauffeur and bodyguard for the daughter of millionaire, Julius Richwell. But after a week he finds the work unsuitable and returns home to Wimborne, Dorset. He is offered a job at Watts Quay, a marina in Poole Harbour as Security Officer and while there he has the chance of securing a forty foot sailboat, provided he can repair it in a specified time. Ella Richwell visits and employs Jack to be her bodyguard against vicious rogues
