About Rocco of 1935

The lives of a rising star of 1930's Golden Gloves boxing, along with a jilted ex-lover of the heir to an industrial fortune, and a sheriff bent on his reelection prospects, collide in an idyllic small town in upstate New York Rocco Rocosano was enjoying his meteoric rise in the world of amateur boxing with the goal of landing a spot on the United States Olympic Team and competing in the Berlin games of 1936 when a beautiful and confident Marti Long moved to town looking for a lost love and the father of her one-year-old child. Power and corruption lead to trouble for Marti as a set of circumstances causes Sheriff Martin Bates to consider Rocco to be the main suspect in her disappearance. As the Olympic hopeful's popularity skyrockets with every win, Sheriff Bates fights pressure from an overzealous state police detective's urge to make a quick arrest. It's only through dogged detective work that the real story and criminals are found, just as Rocco is due to set sail for Germany.
