About the book
About Purge A Political Thriller
The story begins in Russia. An Italian diplomat is murdered in Moscow for no apparent reason. His girlfriend, Masha, is in mortal danger too. On the run from one country to another, she is struggling to understand who is trying to destroy her and why. First Masha and her friends come across a series of disjointed facts. All the inhabitants of a remote African village die over night and nobody can find a cause. In Jerusalem a Gay Pride parade is bombed. In the Central Asian city of Bukhara the local rabbi shows great interest in the production of insecticides. The luxury yacht of an Arab prince suddenly receives orders to sail to the Mediterranean. In a safe house in Rome a young Muslim woman tries on a belt with six kilograms of plastic explosives. In the Vatican the Pope is concerned with the low birth rate among Catholics and suggests some unconventional means to raise it.These seemingly disconnected events make up a plot which involves four continents and three religions. Christian, Jewish and Islamic fundamentalists have made a secret alliance to take control of Europe and purge it from homosexuality and other evils of a free society. A top Vatican official, Cardinal Agu, is at the centre of the conspiracy. He commands the support of the rich and powerful. Masha has only her friends to rely on. Will they together be able to defeat the Cardinal? The story is partly based on facts, with a strong female character in the centre of the plot and an exotic milieu for the location (some important episodes are set in Russia, Israel and Uzbekistan).
