About Pathway to Perdition

Matthias Ellis is broken. Years of abuse have left him empty, unable to find happiness in everyday life. The world joyfully spins around him, begging him to rejoin society. He’s utterly single, has no friends, and is emotionally closed off from everyone. Matthias is stuck. He has spent thirty years fantasizing about making his abuser pay. But when his fantasies seep into reality, Matthias takes his revenge. He believes acting out his retribution will finally give him peace. And to his surprise, Matthias likes the powerful feeling of complete control. Causing pain to another breaks a gateway within him, bringing him great pleasure—something he has never felt before. Taking revenge releases the monster who has always been inside him. Can Matthias find a pathway into the light, or will his urges cast him into darkness, consuming him forever? Author Sam Ayun takes us inside a mind molded by hate and revenge in this dark thriller. Pathway to Perdition begs the question, “What would you do if you had demons inside—gnawing to get out?”
