Warren Whitmire is a retired Army intelligence officer with over 25 years in uniform followed by ten years' experience as a civilian intelligence analyst. He has travelled to over 21 countries, including service in Germany, Japan, Korea, India, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Panama. During his career, Warren has provided intelligence support to both conventional and special operations units, as well as Army Aviation units and Air Force intelligence collection units. His military awards include two Bronze Stars, multiple Meritorious Service Medals, the Global War on Terror medal, the Afghan Campaign Medal, the Iraq Campaign medal, the Army Parachutist Badge, the Expert Pistol Marksmanship badge, the Military Order of Saint Michael award, and the Military Order of Saint Barbara award, and several others.Warren has a B.A. in Economics from Furman University and is trained in intelligence analysis, counterintelligence, interrogation, forensics, computer simulations, and psychological operations. He currently lives in rural Alabama with his wife Andrea and anywhere from two to six dogs, depending on whose dogs need doggy day care on any given day. Warren and Andrea have three grown sons. His hobbies include kayaking, fishing, playing with grandchildren and dogs, history, listening to music, and creative writing. He serves as a Deacon at his church and volunteers with the River Keepers, an environmental group that promotes safe and responsible use of Alabama's water resources. Warren works part-time as a computer simulations operator.
